More than 16 years ago, long-time Men’s Club member Irv Swartz (z”l) began a simple yet meaningful High Holidays tradition at Temple Israel. He and a few friends purchased Laromme challahs in bulk from BJ’s to bring sweetness to the community’s holiday celebrations. That small act grew into a beloved annual program - supported by volunteers, an email list, and the dedication of the Men’s Club - which has sold up to 300 packages of round challahs each year, available in plain or raisin.

This year, we proudly continue Irv’s legacy.
