10:00 AM - 11:00 AMMindy Ellen Levine Chapel

Are you searching for a more personal, spiritual connection to Judaism? Would you like to find a way to tap into the gifts of Shabbat and Jewish prayer through your own life and experiences?

Shabbat enables us to step back from our busy lives and focus on timeless values, on the mysteries of creation, on our purpose as individuals and as Jews, and most especially, on our blessings.

Join Rabbi Klirs for the new Shabbat Blessings learning service, to begin January 6 at 10:00am in the Mindy Ellen Levine Chapel. Each time we meet, we’ll study a text or two in advance about the topic selected for that session. On January 6th our topic will be:

Imitating God’s Attributes by Learning how to be More Compassionate and Just

Please read the two attached articles (see below) in advance and, if you have such an item and are so inclined, bring in a personal item, poem, prayer, etc. related to ONE of the topics – Compassion or Justice – to share.

During the session we will study additional texts and prayers connected to these themes, hold a stimulating discussion, and then will invite participants who brought in a personal item connected to the theme to briefly share it.

Everyone is welcome, whether or not they bring something to share. Babysitting is available on Shabbat mornings for those with young children. Please invite your friends to participate!
