Temple Israel Men’s Club volunteers gather with their families for the Room in the Inn program that helps the homeless.

The Men’s Club of Temple Israel is a friendly group which welcomes all men of Temple Israel, regardless of religion. Our Club is a member of the International Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs ( and we are in their Anshei Darom region.  Anshei Darom means “Men of the South.”  Membership dues of $54 per year are due each fall, and include a contribution to FJMC International programming as well as local events, programs, and initiatives.

Men's Club

Temple Israel Men’s Club seeks to involve Jewish men in Jewish life by providing programs for our members, mentoring leaders, connecting individuals of all ages to the Masorti/Conservative community, and forming meaningful and long-lasting relationships based on camaraderie, common interests and core values. We are an integral part of Temple Israel, and as such we encourage our members to become involved in Temple Israel and our greater communities.

Here are just some of our ongoing and annual programs:

- Men’s Club Shabbat featuring a scholar-in-residence
- Thanksgiving Week Homeless Meal and Clothing Drive
- Kosher Passover Wine Sale
- “Mensch Club” program honoring our religious school students who model
    positive Jewish behavior
- Shoah Yellow memorial candle distribution to our entire congregation
- Sponsorship of the Temple’s Break-Fast after Yom Kippur
- “Not Your Father’s Men’s Club” programs for young men
- Sukkah Steak Dinner
- Free Basic Hebrew Literacy classes
- Family activities like going to Bobcats games

Our club welcomes men of all ages to share their many talents for the benefit of the community.  Leadership opportunities are available, and if you are interested in becoming more fully connected with the Temple and our congregants, taking on a leadership role with Men’s Club is a great way to get to know everyone and do some
real good.
The Men’s Club sends a monthly newsletter to our members and other interested people.
