Oct26

During October's Sisterhood meeting, the Clergy Search Communications Committee passed out notecards to 25+ members in attendance and received 15 responses back.  Feedback from Sisterhood members included positive reflections they would want potential Cantor/Rabbi candidates to know, such as:
  • TI enjoys singing/music.
  • TI is a warm, welcoming, tight-knit, involved, family community.
The top 5 items of feedback from Sisterhood members included:

(15) responses for Cantor:
  • (6)  Have questions about teaching ability (kids and adults, teaching new tunes, etc.)
  • (5)  Have questions about personal reasons for wanting job (Why Charlotte?  Why TI? Long-term goals?  Passions?)
  • (4)  Have questions about working with the TI Choir
  • (3)  Have questions about how he/she would engage such a diverse congregation (balancing elder versus youth needs, different Hebrew levels, diverse backgrounds)
  • (3)  Have questions about personal musical tastes (preferences for Teffilot tunes, favorite musical selections)

(15) responses for Rabbi:
  • (5)  Have questions about engaging such a diverse congregation (balancing elder versus youth needs, differing Hebrew levels, diverse backgrounds)
  • (4)  Have questions about personal reasons for wanting job (Why Charlotte? Why TI? Long-term goals?  Passions?)
  • (4)  Would like the candidate to know that we are a Conservative shul, but open to change
  • (3)  Desire greater engagement of young people/kids
  • (3)  Desire a candidate who is familiar/comfortable with elder congregants and their needs

Thank you to our Sisterhood Members for providing such helpful feedback for our Clergy Search!
